Dear 3rd Grade families, We are beginning to schedule Great American Teach-In. If you are interested in speaking to our class(es), please let us know your availability. Also, please consider staying and speaking with multiple grade levels or even just one more class. Students LOVE this day a lot and really enjoy a variety of speakers. Thank you so much! Thank you to all of the parents who came to the PTO meeting and voted in the elections last night. We are excited to have some wonderful parents to work with for this next term! The Third Grade Team Letter from Mrs. Hauser to teachers explaining Fall Festival activities (Please reach out to Mrs. Hauser with any questions.) Ignore the first part, as the 3rd grade basket theme was already selected by our awesome parents coordinating the basket.: Our biggest fun time of the year where families and teachers come together. We are encouraging you all to be a part of this year’s awesome fest fun! And need you to encourage our families too! Pick your theme and ask the parents to help fill up the baskets! Ask a few parents to help organize this for you. We as a P.T.O. are about joining hands and helping together. Can choose to divide one basket into two by doing a boy themed basket and a themed girl basket or simply doing one big basket. If the price of the basket is over a little over 600.00 - 700.00 you may want to split it. Again involving the parents are a blessing! The best project yet is aimed for parent involvement, gives the opportunity to be creative and a part of their child’s experience here at Plato while making great memories to last a life time! A class project! It includes every child in that grade. That is the key. It will be auctioned or raffle at fall fest. I have seen these done at many schools and are extremely popular and most sort after! The class project involving every classmate is what make this so special. For some examples, a flower pot with everything child’s hand print with their name written next to it and the date. Or a surf board with every child’s foot print with name and date on it and then shellac applied over it. It can be tiles with every child’s drawing on it and name and date put together to frame a mirror or to make a table or simply one big picture to hang on a wall. These projects are priceless! I had a friend that made a monopoly board using the children names as streets made out of wood that sold for over $3,000! You just never know what amazing projects the parents will come up with. Since this is a volunteer thing and it’s new to us, it is okay if the parents are not quick to take this on this year, but we would like to see this become a thing for us! It makes our hearts melt thinking about these projects. We would like for you to ask what parent(s) would like to create this for their child’s class for the fall fest Nov 4th. I am sure with set times, It can be done maybe at lunch, gym or art. The parent(s) can come in and work on this to get those foot prints/ hand prints etc. Maybe the art teacher can be of some assistance. If you or any parents have any question feel free to call me @ 727-943-9388 Deborah Hauser. No problem with giving my number out. Thank you for all you do Teachers! And for making this year’s Fall fest event awesome! Sincerely, Mrs. Deborah Hauser
